Have you ever pondered the working of your own mind? We employ it everyday and yet we don't understand how it works. Why is that? Why is it you don't question how your mind works? Or, not work. I do not want to think one way or the other. Have you ever thought about it? After all, it is your head. Maybe, you have wondered why your cerebral cortex is always making noise. And, you could have thought about what it would be like to have a quiet mind. So long as the mind is making noise, there's no inner peace inside you. Understand that your consciousness is making noise as you failed to pay attention.
In fact your lack of attention is the reason your thoughts are running wild. This disorder comes into being because thought must be in order. For the mind to find order, you need to understand how it works.
Thinking is a movement of your memory. Those thoughts are coming up from your memories of experiences that need to be put to rest. Those thoughts die away through the fire of attention. Then, when you least expect it, there is this peace, this silence, that's outside the mind.
To comprehend the mind there has to be the awakening of silence. A silence that goes beyond the mind. This religious silence is beyond the mind and its conditions. In contrast to the mind, this silence does not rely on anything. If a thing exists due to another, then it is conditioned.
It needs something so as to be. Therefore we are asking, is there such a thing as this silence that's never born that is not the outcome of anything? Does this spiritual silence depend on the lack of the mind? This silence stands by itself. Unruffled and unfettered by anything. Are you able to fathom such a thing? Or, is it necessary for you to be still and be quiet? Then perhaps, that silence that is beyond all things may awaken inside you. Then you'll see what it implies to function without mind.
It is to have a life without effort. Are you able to do that? Can you wake up to all this so you may live, peacefully? Inwardly, when you are at peace, you affect all of humanity. Because, there isn't any such thing as your intellect and my mind. There's only mind in which we all live in. Hence the non secular change inside you affects us all. When you open yourself to the creative change that is beyond the mind, there is change that's whole.
Then, you may understand what it implies to be holy. Are you interested in living a holy life in the true meaning of the word?
